Hanbok

After class yesterday, I got picked up by my korean uncle and then we met up with my birthmom near where she works. They took me out to lunch and shopping. It wasn’t just any shopping, it was to shop for a hanbok for me to wear on Sunday. On Sunday I celebrate my 24th birthday. My birthmom’s younger sister that lives in WA. state, told her to buy me a hanbok as a birthday gift. It was an interesting experience with buying a hanbok. It was interesting because the sales lady didn’t really speak english and of course my birthmom doesn’t speak english. I had to do a lot of pointing at different fabrics,dresses, pictures, and say “yes” or “no” if I like it or not. I ended up picking out a nice dress that has a simple design. Definitely this hanbok is both a different facbric and design pattern from the other 2 hanboks I have. Hmm.. maybe i’ll wear the hanbok at one of the events at the IKAA gathering. Either way i’ll be taking pictures this weekend in my hanbok to share with others.
